Castle Rock Edinvar Works Manager’s rejection of my complaint – Notice no mention regarding the breach of building regulations. Repeated requests for what regulations he referred to in connection to EIRC check ordered directly by CRE manager as result of 1st complaint have yet to be answered!
I apologise for the time I have taken to respond to your enquiry about not having an EICR Test carried out in your property since you moved in on March 1994. You also raised concerns about the condition of the wiring.
It has not been a legal requirement for social housing in Scotland to have this carried out other than at the change of tenancy.
We have had a plan in place since 2016 to make sure that all our social housing stock is in line with the private rented sector in terms of EICR testing. We have now carried out your EICR in December 2019 along with all associated works to bring your property up to current regulations.
As far as the “extremely dangerous wiring” you have referred to I would say that we did attend as an emergency service which was to make the issue safe. (Note: untrue – Only work was relating to out of date electrical meter) We then raised further works to make the full repair. We found that it was challenging to agree access to your property to carry this work out.
I am sorry that you feel that we have dealt with your situation poorly or left you in danger at any time.
